2.23.2008- Junior Consultant - Washington D.C. and NYC office
This candidate will collaborate with SMM client teams to define, architect and deliver transformational finance and performance management solutions. This candidate will be required to demonstrate an understanding of processes and best practices within finance functional areas and how to use PeopleSoft functionality to support those best practices. This candidate will also be required to do the following: Be able to develop detailed work plans, manage status, etc.; Prioritize and oversee activities of others to meet deadlines and quality standards; Perform a variety of complex or straightforward tasks within the scope of the function; Assist in the identification, assessment and resolution of complex issues/problems; Assess and resolve non-standard/standard issues/problems largely on own initiative; Decide within an available range of solutions/practices, which solutions/practices are the most applicable; Seek advice on and escalate issues when faced with tasks/problems outside normal scope of job; Interact with client frequently around specific work efforts/deliverables; Directly coordinate the work of others in a small/medium sized teams; Will work with senior team members and provide advice on procedures/work methods to individuals who may be at the same level; Exhibit working knowledge of functional areas by calling on previous job experience and training; Exhibit excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; Exhibit the ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment; Be a self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills; Manager level candidate should have experience leading large engagement teams and have participated in at least two full implementation project lifecycles.
Qualifications:
· 2+ years experience as a direct user or application developer with experience with one or more of PeopleSoft 8.x module areas: Core Financials - General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Asset Management, Projects
· Performance Reporting - EPM, Forecasting & Planning, Balanced Scorecard, etc.
· Proven understanding of process and best practices within finance functional areas and how to use PeopleSoft functionality to support those best practices
· Business consulting experience (preferably big 4)
· CPA, CFA, MBA, or experience as an accountant
· Direct experience in creating business change using PeopleSoft 8.X Financials
· PeopleSoft Financials 8.x configuration, conversion or detailed process design
· Experience with other major ERP packages
· Experience with the integration of ERP packages with Best of Breed products
· Global engagement experience
· Software selection and CRP/prototyping skills
· Financial Services industry experience preferred. These roles require 100% travel. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of consulting business practices, culture, and lifestyle.
